Dr. Lauren Weittenhiller joined the Green Lab in 2024 through the support of the VA’s Advanced Fellowship in Mental Illness Research and Treatment. She earned bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Child Learning & Development from the University of Texas at Dallas and completed her doctorate in Clinical Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow mentored by Dr. Ann Kring. She completed her APA clinical psychology internship in the Psychosis Track at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Lauren’s doctoral research focused on the social challenges faced by people with schizophrenia, particularly social exclusion. Her postdoctoral work expands on this foundation, examining the causes and consequences of social disconnection in people with psychosis and exploring pathways to foster social inclusion.
