Alex graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where he worked in the Relationships and Social Cognition Lab, investigating individual differences in social anxiety and their associations with physiological responses during social interactions. He is currently a Research Associate and Recruiter in the Green Lab at UCLA and the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, where he recruits participants and conducts neuropsychological testing, clinical assessments, EEG, pupillometry, and PET/CT imaging for studies examining cognition and functioning in individuals with severe mental illness, PTSD, and substance use disorders. His research interests center on how cognitive, affective, and neural processes shape behavioral decision-making and self-regulation. He plans to pursue a Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience and a career in academic research.
